Five Flower Lake

There are real wonders of nature, the extraordinary beauty of which still does not allow revealing the secrets of the universe. One such place is still considered to be the Five Flower Lake in the Jiuzhaigou Valley, hidden in the foothills of Tibet. This place keeps many secrets and legends, surprising with its constant water level in the flower lake, despite the fact that all the neighboring lakes are becoming shallow and dry.

Five Flower Lake is also surprising in that from time to time it changes its color: from yellow to green, from purple to silver, remaining predominantly sky blue. It does not freeze in winter and brings awe and fear to the local population with its wonder. One of the legends says that the gods wash in this 5 flower lake, and their blush paints the lake in incredible shades, giving extraordinary beauty and amazement.

Jiuzhaigou

Jiuzhaigou is translated as "Valley of Nine Fortified Villages." There are actually nine villages of them, but only seven of them are home to about 1000 people engaged in the production of handmade products for tourists and living on government subsidies. It is strictly forbidden to cultivate the land and keep livestock here since the place is the territory of Jiuzhaigou National Park. In 1992, the valley was included in the UNESCO list of protected sites.

Jiuzhaigou Valley National Park — The traditional periods of the seasons are not preserved here. Winter, lasting more than half a year from October to April, hides the valley in a snow cover and freezes the lakes, turning the cascades of waterfalls into real ice sculptures.
