Bailong Elevator – Zhangjiajie China Elevator

One of the most extraordinary pieces of engineering in a natural landscape, the Bailong Elevator in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province, China, dramatically ascends a towering quartzite cliff. The elevator is also called the Hundred Dragons Elevator. It’s a huge glass elevator that takes visitors vertically through the stunning mountains of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area.

Guinness World Records officially recognises the Bailong Elevator as the highest outdoor lift in the world, at 326 metres (1,070 feet). It combines modern engineering with one of the most dramatic natural environments in China, and is a remarkable way to experience the famous sandstone peaks of Zhangjiajie.

Five Flower Lake – Jiuzhaigou

Five Flower Lake (Wuhua Hai) is one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in Jiuzhaigou Valley, Sichuan, China. The lake, known for its vibrant turquoise, emerald-green, deep blue, and golden hues, resembles a giant natural painting surrounded by mountains and forests. Its vibrant colours are the result of a combination of mineral-rich water, travertine deposits, submerged vegetation, algae, sunlight, and the lake's exceptionally clear waters. According to the official Jiuzhai Valley National Park website, Five Flower Lake is located at an elevation of 2,472 metres, covers an area of approximately 90,000 square metres, and has a depth of approximately 5 metres.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park: China’s Floating Mountains

I'll be honest — the first time I saw a photo of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, I thought it had been digitally altered. Thin stone pillars rise from the green valleys, some of which tower more than 200 metres above the surrounding landscape. When mist settles between them, the peaks can look almost as if they are floating in the clouds. But this place is completely real. comparison.

Kaiping Diaolou and Villages

A typical structure of the landscape in the Kaiping county of Jiangmen district in Guangdong, China, is the famous multi-storey fortified towers called Diaolou, the Kaiping Towers. These areas include four distinct Kaiping village areas: Sanmenli, Zilicun, Jinjiangli, and the Majianglong village cluster. These areas display a unique combination of Western and 19th-century Chinese architectural styles. Their function was clearly military, but they also displayed remarkable artistic taste, making them one of the area's great tourist attractions today.

Every autumn, the foothills of China's Zhongnan Mountains undergo a spectacular transformation. A huge ginkgo tree at the ancient Gu Guanyin Temple turns brilliant yellow, covering the temple courtyard with a carpet of golden leaves. The tree is over 1,400 years old and one of the most photographed ancient trees in China. Located in Chang'an District, south of Xi'an, the ginkgo stands inside the grounds of the Ancient Guanyin Buddhist Temple, where its autumn display attracts thousands of visitors.

Houtouwan | The Abandoned Chinese Fishing Village

The small fishing village of Houtouwan, which is located on one of the Chinese islands of the Shengshan, east of Shanghai, China. A remote village on one of the 400 archipelago of Shengsi. It was abandoned by the locals in the 1990s. Due to poor transport links and depletion of fish resources, residents were forced to find work in other cities, while leaving their coastal village at the whim of Mother Nature. The village was once home to over 2,000 fishermen, now home to less than a dozen people.

Wood carved with smiling faces → A farmer from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region turns wood into "smiling" faces. Jang Aolin, who comes from a remote village in the town of Motsuan, was passionate about carving wood at the end of 2016, although he had never taught the art of woodcarving.

Chinese Cliff lays egg-shaped stones in every 30 years

Local people in the southwestern Chinese Autonomous Region of Guizhou Province in southwestern China were surprised to find the smooth and rounded egg eggs protruding over the cliffs and falling to the ground afterwards. The cliff is named Chan D Ya, meaning "cliff to lay eggs" in Chinese.

Yehliu Geopark, Taiwan

Yehliu Geopark in Wanli, Taiwan,  is truly unique because the rock layers near the seashore contain substantial quantities of limestone, which are subject to sea erosion, weathering and earth movements, thus making the 1,700 meter-long peninsula almost lunar-like in many ways. The wild-looking landscape leaves little to the imagination. It’s easy to imagine what life could be like on another planet. The area is studded with seawater-eroded holes teeming with sea-life, as well as unusual rock formations, which make the surrounding environment rich in ecological resources. Sun, wind, rain, waves and strong northeastern typhoons all make a major impact on this narrow strip of land.

The Oriental Lion — Wolrds largest Single Tree Trunk Sculpture

This amazing and giant lion statue called the Oriental Lion is the work of sculptor Dengding Rui Yao. It is known that it is 5m high, 15m long and 4m wide. In Chinese culture, the lion plays an important role, acting as a symbol of strength and greatness. It is no coincidence lion statues are often installed at the entrances to temples and palaces, including the famous Forbidden City in Beijing. 

Tulou, Ancient Earthen Complexes of China

Tulou is a kind of earthen houses, built by Hakka and Minnan peoples in the mountainous and rural areas of south-eastern China, mainly in the province of Fujian. They were mostly built between the 12th and the 20th centuries. Tulou is a powerful, multi-storey homes, usually circular in shape, with a very thick, 'almost 6 feet' of mud walls, reinforced with wood, bamboo and stones, with access to the central courtyard through one door only. The result is a well-lit, well-ventilated, windproof and earthquake-proof building that is warm in winter and cool in summer. Tulous usually have only one main gate, guarded by 4–5-inch-thick  or 100–130 mm wooden doors reinforced with an outer shell of iron plate. The top level of these earth buildings has gun holes for defensive purposes. In the middle of the stone courtyard is a small building performing ceremonial functions like weddings, funerals, prayer. The courtyard is surrounded by wooden corridors leading to housing consisting of two or three rooms. The two lowest floors of Tulou are bulky, do not have windows and are most commonly used as warehouses and granaries, while homes are located above the second floor.

Mainshan Mountains, China

Mainshan Mountains, located in central Shanxi Province, central North China. Covering an area of 75 square kilometers, the mountain is a national scenic spot with 14 tourist areas and 400 attractions. Mianshan "Silky Mountain" is noted for its natural scenery, especially for its cultural and religious relics. It is also the birthplace of Qingming Festival "Grave Cleaning Day", which is one of China’s most important traditional festivals and items of intangible cultural heritage.

The Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) also known as Chongqing Metro, is a 75 km rapid-transit system, serving the city of Chongqing in China. It has been in operation since 2005  and serves the needs of nearly 32 million people. CRT serves transportation needs in the city's main business and entertainment downtown areas. It is one of only three urban-rail metro systems in operation in the west of China, the others being Chengdu Metro, and Xi'an Metro which opened in 2010 and 2011, respectively. Daily ridership of the metro is around 400,000 passengers.

Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet

High on Moburi means Red Hill, in central Lhasa, where the world-famous Potala Palace stands. It was built as the centre of the Tibetan government by the Fifth Dalai Lama in 1645. It served as the chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to India during the 1959 Tibetan uprising. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994. This amazing palace is the highest ancient palace in the world, with its highest point reaching 3,750 metres (12,300 feet) above sea level and towering 100 metres (300 feet) above the city of Lhasa. This 13-storey-high palace has over 1,000 rooms and covers over 13 hectares, or 32 acres. The stone walls are, on average, 3 metres (or 10 feet) thick.

The Zhangye Danxia landform is also known as the eye candy of Zhangye. Many artists admire this masterpiece as it appears like a perfect painting on canvas. This 400-square-kilometer attraction is located in in Linze and Sunan counties in Gansu Province in central north China.
