21 Gorgeous Photos Finalists of AGORA Awards 2019 Photo Contest

It's been nearly 9 months since the photographers from around the world submitted photos to participate in the AGORA Awards 2019. And this year the success was the rendezvous since nearly 130 000 photographs were deposited among which were retained only 50 finalist photos. These photos take us from one end of the world to the other , from the Sahara Desert to the beauty of Vietnam, from the finesse of an ant to the agility of a lizard and again in many situations in which we do not. have never thought. In this article you will discover 21 breathtaking photos among the 50 finalists. And who knows, in there is perhaps the winner of this year who will have the chance to leave with the tidy sum of 25 000 dollars.  The answer on November 6th!

The Diversity of Female Beauty | A Unique Photo Project of 500 Women Around The World

Romanian photographer Mihaela Noroc presented a photo book dedicated to women's beauty. The girl traveled the world for four years and took portraits of local women, emphasizing the diversity of cultures. During this time, she made more than 500 photos in 50 countries of the world, which were included in the book  The Atlas of Beauty.

Mihaela Noroc's portraits of women around the world are being published in a new 352-page book. In her pictures women of different ages and physiques are depicted, proving that beauty is much more than we used to see on the pages of glossy magazines. "Beauty lies in our dissimilarity. Being beautiful means being yourself, being natural and authentic, "says Noroc.

Sea of Plastic by Bernhard Lang

" Aerial View of Plastic Sea " , a wonderful series of aerial photographs taken in November 2014 by Bernhard Lang, of the "Sea of Plastic" -  Agriculture Greenhouse in the region of Almería, southern Spain. Campo de Dalías, some 30 km southwest of the city of Almería in southern Spain. Almería has become Europe's market garden and grow fruit and vegetables all year, the land is shaded in plastic sheet. There are now an estimated 40,000 hectares of greenhouses in the Campo de Dalías,where every year millions of tons of fruits and vegetables are exported, the largest concentration in the world. Over 2.7 million tonnes of produce are grown on the plain each year, accounting for over €1.2 billion in economic activity.

Daily Overview — Planet Earth

Daily Overview is a project that shows daily satellite images of different parts of the Earth in order to give us a new point of view to observe our planet. The idea of this project is the "Overview Effect" which is what astronauts experience when they look at Earth. At that point they can understand the true value of our planet and come to understand how important it is to take care of him.

The images that gives us this project gives us an idea of our presence and size on the planet, can see how the human geometry adapts, occupying and transforming the surface.

The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is a heritage railway in the state of Colorado that travels about 73.2 kilometers precisely between Durango to the historic mining town of Silverton. Designed and cut to 914mm narrow gauge route leads over spectacular sections and through gorges and canyons of the San Juan National Forest, in the US state of Colorado. The railway is a federally designated National Historic Landmark and is also designated by the American Society of Civil Engineers as a Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.

The Nihang Sikhs, The Army of the Eternal | Mark Hartman

New York based photographer Mark Hartman spent March and April of 2014 in India working on personal projects, including these images from his series “Bole Sol Nihang" Sikhism was founded  during the 15th century in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent, by Guru Nanak and continued to progress through the ten successive Sikh gurus (the eleventh and last guru being the holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib. It is the fifth-largest organized religion in the world, with approximately 30 million adherents. Punjab, India is the only state in the world with a majority Sikh population.

The number of inhabitants of our planet grows daily and seemingly people gradually have more and more land to develop. American 23-year-old photographer Johnny Joo like to visit abandoned places and shoot at them because they look scary and mysterious, just like in his favorite game Silent Hill. Johnny even release photobook "Empty Spaces",  will feature 116 images, which was released in last month.

Sculpture Athletes | Tim Tadder and Cristian Girotto

Californian-based photographer has created a series of art sculptures in the form of athletes. Titled “Sculpture Athletes” these incredible are statues were created by advertising photographer Tim Tadder with the collaboration of Paris based digital artist Christian Girotto.

Tim writes on his behance account, “After seeing Cristian’s work with fashion skin retouching on behance, Tim reached out with a new concept for the talented artist’s technique. Quite simply Tim had the desire to recreate some of the most classic athlete statues from antiquity and with Cristian’s glass/porcelain skin type overlay he new the series would be strikingly unique.” We are sure you will enjoy and appreciate their stunning classic athlete statues’ work.

Incredible Aerial View of Botswana Wildlife

Stunning views of the wildlife, untouched nature of Botswana, bird's-eye view looking stunning. To remove such species from Brooklyn-based photographer Zack Seckler flew an ultralight aircraft, and with a height of less than 150 meters from the ground and captured dramatic episodes of wildlife in the salt marsh and the Makgadikgadi Pan and the Okavango Delta. Flying above the ground on a midget height, and having the ability to precisely maneuver, the man have a wonderful opportunity to create amazing scenic photography, like huge paintings.  The effect is pure beauty. You can see the series at Robin Rice Gallery in New York until February 23, 2014.

Matthias Haker and Abandoned Buildings

Matthias Hacker lives in Dresden and studying at the Faculty of electronic media . He began photographing in 2008, a talented photographer discovered the world of photography. He is interested in architectural and interior photography as well as people, portrait, fashion and wedding photography. His series of abandoned buildings is fascinating and these empty places seems to be both quiet and full of memories. With one of a series of his works, I want to introduce you , the series of  abandoned premises , which is called "Decay".

Chris Jordan is a Seattle based photographer whose current and past works deal with the idea of consumerism, consumption, and waste; thus the well known American lifestyle. Specifically, two individual bodies of work confront the viewer into a grotesque realization of the epic proportions of waste in this country, using the idea of visual language as a multiplier and medium for numbers. and Chris turns appalling but simultaneously all too real statistics into fine art that challenges the viewer and poses important questions about the individual’s role in contributing to the scene before them. The work is printed large scale, wall size in fact, and the sheer immensity of the scene is astonishing.

Kacper Kowalski’s Aerial Photography

Kacper Kowalski — The 2009 World Press Photo Award winner, was born in 1977 in Gdansk, Poland. With a degree in architecture, as a photographer he specializes in aerial photography. Both a pilot and a photographers, he has unique control over each shot. As a result, he is able to capture perniciously unseen natural environments and ordinarily inaccessible cityscapes. For his photographs Kacper kowalski has received numerous awards and honorable mentions, including the World Press Photo award, Nikon 75th Anniversary Award, International Photography Awards (IPA), Sony worlds Photography awards, Picture of the Year International (POYI) Leica Oskare Barnack Award. Kowalski magnificent pictures show the geographical beauty as it changes through the year.

Stunning Pigeons photography by Richard Bailey, British photographer Richard Bailey introduced its new series of photographs entitled "Drawin's Pigeons", Richard, from London and shot more than 50 different types of pigeons. ranging from the well-known English carrier, to a less recognizable Voorbur Crooper, who was more than happy to strut its stuff in front of the camera. All of Richard's images were shot in a professional studio, meaning that the photographer was able to capture the birds in striking poses.
