Corn Palace, also known as "Worlds only Corn Palace" and "The Mitchell Corn Palace", is a multi-purpose arena/facility in Mitchell, South Dakota, USA. Crop art is featured in the Moorish Revival building. Each year, new designs are created and murals and designs are added to the building. The Corn palace South Dakota is a tourist attraction that draws up to 500,000 people each year.

The corn palace in Mitchell South Dakota: The corn palace is a community venue that hosts concerts, sporting events, exhibits, as well as other community events. The Corn Palace Festival is a citywide celebration that celebrates the Corn Palace Sd every year. It was traditionally held in September at harvest, but it is now held in August at the end. The Corn Palace Polka Festival and Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo are two other popular annual events. The Dakota Wesleyan University Tigers are also based here. Many Great Plains cities constructed "crop Palaces", also known as "grain Palaces", in the late 19th-century to advertise their products. The idea was quickly adopted, including a Corn Palace in Sioux City, Iowa, built between 1887-1891. Another corn palace in Gregory, South Dakota, was also built. Creston, Iowa, is home to a Grain Palace at Plankinton and a South Dakota Bluegrass Palace. In the Midwest United States, there were only 34 corn palaces built between 1887 and 1930. Only the corn palace Mitchell Sd is still intact.
Mitchell corn palace was built in 1892 and well-known with the name of "The Corn Belt Exposition", and order to show South Dakota's rich soil and encourage new settlers and developed encourage more agriculture in the area. This landmark is Mitchell's Main Street's wooden castle structure. It was built upon the property of Louis Beckwith. Pierre challenged Mitchell to be the state capital in South Dakota between 1904-1905. The Corn castle south dakota was built in 1905 as part of this effort. The Corn Palace was again rebuilt in 1921 by Rapp and Rapp, an architectural firm from Chicago. The distinctive appearance of the Palace was due to its Russian-style onion domes, and Moorish minarets that were installed in 1937.

Corn Museum — Each year, the exterior corn murals of the city are redesigned with a new theme. Designs by local artists are used to replace them. The panels were designed by Oscar Howe from 1948 to 1971. From 1977 to 2002, the murals were designed by Calvin Schultz. The corn palace murals were designed by Cherie Ramsdell from 2003 to 2017. Extreme drought in 2006 prevented the creation of a new mural. Dakota Wesleyan University students have created designs since 2018. It is estimated that each redecoration of the Palace will cost $175,000 annually as of 2018.
Corn Castle — Local farmers grow twelve naturally occurring corn shades to make the artwork. The drawings of the artists are transferred onto black tar paper and labeled with codes that correspond to colors. This creates a "corn by numbers" pattern that shows where each colored cob should go. The corn cobs are cut in half lengthwise and then nailed to the outside of the building using approximately 1.5 million nails and its look like a corn capital of the world.

In LastCorn Palace, South Dakota is one of the most bizarre attractions in the United States. The palace is built like any traditional building, but during the spring the outer facades are completely overgrown by thousands of leaves of the corn plant, grass, and grain that represent large wall drawings for hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.
Every year it is a challenge for the artists to produce something completely new with naturally colored seeds and corn. A lot of vegetation is involved, such as grasses, straw, different types of grains, and everything that can qualify. Only in America!
