The Red Lotus Sea is located at Nong Han in Kumphawapi district in Udon Thani province, the north-eastern part of Thailand a lake that has a name similar to the nearest city - Kumphawari and about 50 kilometers away from Udon Thani. Local says Talay Bua Daeng which means the “Sea of Red Lotus”. The peculiarity of the reservoir is a huge number of lotuses on its surface. The pink lotus resembles a blooming thick carpet that looks like heaven. Millions of flamingo-pink lotus flowers are shake on Crystal clear water in this Lotus Sea. Feel like time is freeze.

The Sea of Red Lotus, Thailand
Every year from November to March, over eight thousand acre of the surface of a shallow lake are covered entirely with pink lotus flowers. The lake is very popular among tourists. Of course, it is precisely because its entire surface is dotted with pink flowers. The depth of the freshwater reservoir only in places exceeds one meter. However, for the region, the lake is important in livelihoods and agriculture. The local population regularly visits the reservoir for fishing and collecting stems and lotus flowers that are used for food.
