The Walls of Saqsaywaman in Peru

SacsayhuamánSaqsaywaman also known as Saksaq Waman, is a walled complex located on the northern slopes of the city of Cusco. It is often described as a fortress since it is enclosed by three slopes and has a series of parallel walls that zigzag and would expose the flanks of invaders. However, archaeologists are unsure of the purpose of Sacsayhuaman and it's possible that it may have been a temple devoted to the worship of the sun or used to form the head of the Puma that Sacsayhuaman and Cusco make when viewed from above.

This small village accommodates a population of around 700 people. It is the very first village within this whole Silk Route circuit to offer home-stay facilities for tourists. Zuluk itself does not offer views of the snow peaks but only 14 kms away the Thambi View Point offers a panoramic view of the entire Mt. Kanchenjungha range. Zuluk is a hilltop and a transit point within the Silk Route. The road through Zuluk makes almost 32 hairpin turns to reach Lungthung and total of 97 S-curves from Lingthum till Zuluk, which makes it a unique engineering feat. There is a local Nag Temple here. The temple has a cave like structure and the deity of King Cobra or Nag, famous Hindu mythical god is worshipped in the temple. Another great attraction of Zuluk lies in watching the sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjungha and its allied peaks from Thambi View Point (around 14 kms away) at 11,200 feet. The glittering rays of the rising sun kisses the snow clad peak of Mt. Kanchenjungha, which slowly turns crimson and then golden and finally silver.

The bridge crosses the Osam River, connecting the old "Varosha" and new town parts of Lovech, being possibly the most recognisable symbol of the town. Each citizen of Lovech contributed to the building process, the poorer ones working themselves and the wealthier donating money and paying other workers. Building completed in 1874.

Bookstore Inside the Church of Maastricht, Netherlands

Selexyz Dominicanen - a store created from a merger between the town's Bergman's bookshop, the Academische Boekhandel, and the Dutch Selexyz bookshop chain - is housed in the thrilling setting of a 13th-century Dominican church. This haunting building was once part of a friary knocked about over the centuries by various invading armies. Right up until last Christmas, in possibly its strangest incarnation, it was being used by the citizens of Maastricht as a glorious, or possibly inglorious, indoor bike pound. As for the Dominicans, they were driven out by Napoleon in 1794. After a brief spell as a parish church, this magnificent Gothic prayer hall - it has no tower or transepts, in keeping with the rules of the clerical order that built it - was turned into nothing holier than a warehouse.

Perito Moreno Glacier, Argentina

The Perito Moreno Glacier or Glaciar Perito Moreno is a glacier located in the Los Glaciares National Park in southwest Santa Cruz Province, Argentina. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Argentina's most popular attractions. There seems to have a whole other sense of scale in Patagonia, and Glaciar Perito Moreno is a prime example. It's one of the largest glaciers not only in Los Glaciares National Park but in South America. Of course, part of the beauty of the glacier is that it's constantly changing and unlike just about every other glacier in the world, this one is swelling and growing steadily - rather than receding - at a rate of up to 7 feet a day, not counting the massive chunks of ice that fall off the façade into the Canal de los Tempanos as well.
