Aoshima is an island in Ozu in Ehime Prefecture, where people have lived for generations by fishing. The island has a preserved natural landscape almost intact with white sand beaches surrounded on all sides and going deep inside, you will be immersed in the cool green of the subtropical forest.
Initially, Aoshima Island did not have many cats, but the first Miu was only brought here by humans to catch mice for the harbor full of fishing boats.

Island of Cats
Living in a vast food store that is almost endless and loved by the people to the point of pampering, cats begin to multiply and "populate" at any time. Finally, when the number of people on the island decreases over time, cats still "live well" and dominate in large numbers on this beautiful island.
According to current figures, less than 25 people live on Aoshima Island, mainly the elderly and middle-aged. Meanwhile, the number of cats is estimated to be over 120!
Truly a "paradise" for cats, where four-legged residents can comfortably do whatever they like without worrying about anyone disturbing or threatening. Island of cats can see as soon as a human steps down to the harbor. Dozens of these lovely "hostesses" always wait for guests from far away to visit.
On the island of Aoshima, there are many abandoned houses, witnesses of a time when people lived quite a lot. Currently, although these houses no longer have owners, no one has the heart to demolish them because they have become "homes" for cats to hide.
Most of the cats on the island have the same coat color as yellow-orange or gray; besides that, there is a very recognizable appearance feature that all of them are fat and fat because they are liked by the people and the locals. Visitors feed enthusiastically!
