Menlo Castle is also known as Galway castle is located just outside of Galway, Ireland, on the banks of the Corrib River, whose abandonment remains a mystery. It is a picturesque landmark of the area, visible from the passage of the river, although nature has fully understood it to the point where it is lost in the landscape.

Menlo Ireland | The 16th-century palace was home to the Blake family, the English nobility who lived in the Menlo estate (also known as the Blake Castle) from 1569 until a fire destroyed the palace in 1910, sadly taking the life of Blake's disabled daughter, Eleanor, whose body was never found.

Abandoned Irish castles — Today, the vegetation is covered with green vines climbing the stone walls, indicating how long it has been abandoned. The only building not covered by nature is the ruins of a small stone hut just before you reach your palace. Tourists come here to see this romantic attraction on the banks of the river. Many locals arrange a picnic here, although they say it is better to leave the place before it gets dark, as the ruins may look strange, mourning your fate.
