Volcano Tizdar, also known as Blue Beam, is located near the village of "For the Motherland" in the Temryuksky district of Krasnodar Krai, Russia. This town is famous throughout the Krasnodar region and beyond for its unique mud volcano, Tizdar, which is located 400 metres from the Sea of Azov and offers therapeutic mud baths in its crater.
Volcanic Mud
The last eruption of Volcano Tizdar, which occurred almost a hundred years ago, caused the volcanic mountain to lose its cone. Now its shape turns into a mud lake with a diameter of 100 × 150 metres. The crater of this volcano is 25 metres deep with a high content of bromine, iodine and hydrogen sulphide. The density of the mud in the crater is 1550 kg/m³, so it pushes the man out. It is believed that the depth of the lake reaches 25 m, but the actual depth can be judged only in theory. Due to the high density of the mud at the bottom of the sink basin, it is impossible to measure; people can float freely on the surface without any effort. This mud volcano is used in mud therapy at a private complex called "Islands of Health".
Volcano Mud
Due to the high specific gravity of the mud volcano, it is simply impossible to drown, so swimmers can plunge into it without the risk of drowning and enjoy a strange, pleasant sensation of weightlessness. The mud of the volcano is constantly updated every minute; it disembogues 2.5 cubic metres of grey-blue mud from its depths, so it never loses its medicinal properties. The mud of the volcano is not allowed to be taken outside the resort boundary, but many people go outside without taking a shower or a sea bath.
