Stuck in a perpetual state of decay on the French shore at Saint Brevin Les Pins, the massive metal sculpture entitled Serpent D'Océan is a terrifying vision with an environmental message.
Sea snake skeleton — The serpent d ocean skeleton was unveiled in 2012 as part of the Estuaire art exhibition, which invites international artists to create large-scale works using the Loire River's environment between Nantes to Saint-Nazaire. The result was produced by Chinese-French artist Huang Yong Ping, who used the rough iconography of China's mythological dragons to design the over 400-foot long serpent art monster. The beast is posed in slithering movement despite being nothing more than bone serpent, giving the light metal frame an unsettlingly life-like quality.

Serpent d Ocean
Serpent beach – A Massive Metal Sea Serpent Skeleton on a Beach of Brevins — The message behind the piece seems to be one of environmental nostalgia, as though man's mistreatment of the oceans is killing not only its life but its sheer wonder and fantasy. The giant serpent d'ocean snake curve is almost the turn of the nearby Saint-Nazaire bridge that connects the piece with the modern progress it seems to speak of. However, the work is studied, the undisputed aspect of the danger posed by the uneducated snake in fear.
Serpent d ocean snake is real
Serpent sea | Given that it is on the shore of Brevins, the serpent ocean can be seen as an amazing living creature rising out of the ocean floor or deliberately preserved bones held above shallow waves depending on the level of the current on a particular voyage. But despite the turbulent waves, the dream, the serpent art, and the fear are rarely combined.
