The Longleat hedge maze is part of the historic Longleat country house, near the town of Warminster, in the county of Somerset, England. This is one of the biggest mazes in the world today, made up of sixteen thousand English yews with a total length of 2.72km, spread over an area of 1.5 acres (more than 6,000 m²).

Wiltshire's Longleat Maze — The Longleat Maze was designed and built in 1975 by maze designer Greg Bright. This hedge maze in England has a very complex structure, with many falls, dead ends, and high bridges for observation, all surrounding a central observatory. Longleat, Wiltshire, has the longest maze fence, which is over 2 m high and made of red pine. Red pine is often planted as a hedge in labyrinths due to its slow-growing and green nature year-round, partly to limit pruning and to preserve the shape and contours of the maze for as long as possible.
Longleaf maze — Keeping the hedge in shape is the task of a team of six gardeners, who use the machine to prune twice a year, in the fall and spring. This work usually takes up to 1 month to complete the entire fence area. But their real challenge is not to get lost in the very maze they're trimming. One of the workers in the group said it took 2 years to remember the entire path to the entrance of Longleat. An average of 400,000 people try this maze every year. Many signboards and 6 wooden bridges were erected to observe from above when people entering could not find the exit. Due to the vastness and confusing route design, despite the instructions, the staff here still find many players using smartphones with navigation and map applications to quickly get out of the maze, the biggest maze in England.
