Dudhsagar Waterfalls

The main river of Goa, the river Mandovi (or the river Mandovi), begins at the Deccan plateau, in Karnataka. This river winds its way through the Western Ghats and descends to the Doodh sagar Falls after passing over the highest peaks at the border of Goa, Karnataka, and then continues westward. The waters create a deep green pool at its base before moving west to join the Arabian Sea.

Milk waterfall is impressive at 310m, and 100ft wide. It is a stunning sight to see the waterfall split into three streams when it flows over the almost vertical cliff face. Some locals call this water fall Tambdi Surla.

The Bhagwan Mahavir wildlife sanctuary is located in the area surrounding the falls. This area is home to many animals and birds. A keen observer might even spot them. The Goa Forest Department maintains the roads leading to the falls.
